Grooming

Untitled design

Our goal is to teach dogs to relax during grooming and to erase the fear caused by chaotic salons. Your dog deserves the best service possible.

What kind of dogs do we groom?

Redmond Town Center: All sizes, ages, and breeds welcome. We can even accommodate dogs that don’t do well with other dogs. The grooming salon at Pickles in Redmond is designed so your dog doesn’t have to interact with other dogs during their stay.

Carillon Point, Kirkland: Dogs that fit our daycare requirements. That means dogs up to 35lbs or 20 inches tall. The grooming salon is located at the back of our play room. So we are only able to accommodate dogs that can join daycare.

How many dogs are in the salon?

Our groomers are hyper focused on creating the best environment for your dog. We groom one dog at a time per groomer. So your dog will generally be either the only dog in the salon or have 1 other dog in the room if your dog is comfortable with other dogs.

What’s it like in the grooming salon?

All Pickles Playland locations host a dog grooming salon next to our calming lavender room. This means your dog has the experience of being in and around the calmest part of Pickles. The lavender rooms are designed to be a spa like experience with aroma therapy, comfortable beds, dimmed lights, and calm music. In Redmond we have a state of the art bathing tub that lowers to less than 12 inches off of the ground, allowing large senior dogs to enter the tub comfortably. Both salons have top of the line grooming tables that also lower to the ground for dogs to easily climb on and off of.

The drying process is usually the most stressful part of grooming for dogs. So this is something we focused on during the construction process. Our dryers are located within sound dampening areas instead of directly next to your dog, unlike in most grooming salons. This cuts down on the ‘vacuum cleaner’ type noise of the dryer. Dogs also wear ear covering head wraps during drying time. This not only protects their sensitive ears but also helps to dry around their faces. Drying their faces with the wraps means a shorter drying time.

What is the difference between a ‘Groom’ and a ‘Bath’ appointment?

Bathing includes a bath, massage during bathing, ear cleaning, light brushing, undercoat & allergen blowout and drying. You can add additional services like a full body aloe massage, sanitary trim, feet trim, and/or a nail trim.

Grooming refers to cutting all of your dog’s hair. Grooming includes full body haircut, a full body massage with luxury shampoo during bathing, a full body lavender infused aloe massage, ear cleaning, light brushing, full body undercoat & allergen blowout, teeth brushing, and nail trimming or grinding.

My dog has mats. What are my options?

At Pickles we believe life happens and sometimes that means dogs get matted. That being said we’re all about making dogs happy and healthy, while also not causing pain. Some mats we can brush out easily but some we can’t. If your dog has mats on sensitive areas or if they have mats that are painful to brush out we will either shave them out or leave them as is for you to work on at home. If your dog does have mats that you know about just point them out at drop off and let us know your preference if we aren’t able to brush them out. Our goal is 100% perfection while also teaching your dog to relax for grooming. So lets work together towards that goal.

Did you know we have a haircut guarantee?

That’s right. If your dog’s haircut just isn’t right or you see something you want changed let us know within 2 days and we’ll schedule a time to make it right. We want you to love your dog’s haircut! Before you come to pick up your dog we’ll text you a photo. That gives you the opportunity to point out changes before you show up to to take them home.

What is the cancelation policy?

There is no charge for grooming or bathing visits cancelled or rescheduled by 7am 2 days before the day of grooming (ex. If your visit is scheduled on Monday you will not be charged for the visit if cancelled or rescheduled by 7am on Saturday morning). Visits cancelled or rescheduled within 2 days will be charged at 50% of the visit cost. Same day cancelled or rescheduled grooming visits will be charged at 100% of the visit cost. No call no show grooming visits are billed at 100% of the visit cost. This is because refilling that visit is highly unlikely. Our groomers are paid on commission. Cancellations and rescheduling can drastically affect a groomer’s ability to maintain their lifestyle, which makes for unhappy groomers. We don’t want our Pickles groomers to feel unappreciated or unhappy. Thank you for your understanding!

Medical & behavioral information sharing is important.

Please keep us updated on any behavioral issues, medical conditions, medications, supplements and any other needs your dog has throughout their life. If your dog bites for something Please Tell Us in Advance! Being bitten is something that happens most often when a client feels too embarrassed or forgets to tell their groomer about their dog’s bite history. It will not necessarily disqualify your dog from being groomed at Pickles. The more we know the better we can care for your dog.
