By scheduling an appointment with us you agree to everything listed below.

Simple steps to help us create your dog’s Perfect Haircut:

1) Reply to the confirmation email with instructions about your dog’s haircut.

2) Attach photo examples, even if the photos are not your dog. Please understand that coat textures vary between dogs, so although your dog might not look exactly like the photo we will try our best!

3) Please keep us updated with any new behavioral and/or medical changes (i.e. new medications, diagnosis, sensitivities to being touched, recent veterinary visits, etc)

4) Please let us know now if you need to pick your dog up by a certain time or if you want your dog scheduled as a ‘straight through’. A straight through is a service in-which your dog’s bath and haircut are done without any breaks. These visits are scheduled at certain times of day and can only be accommodated when scheduled properly.

Drop Off & Pick Up Times

Saturdays & Sundays: Please arrive with 15 minutes of your appointment time & 30 minutes after the groomer texts that your dog’s haircut is done. We do not have daycare on weekends.

Daycare Dogs: Please drop off no more than 15 minutes after your appointment time, otherwise we might not be able to accommodate your appointment. If you have a dog within our weight limitations (35lbs or under) and they have passed the behavioral analysis you can drop off your dog as early as 7am.

Dogs Unable to Join Daycare: Please drop off no more than 15 minutes after your appointment time, otherwise we might not be able to accommodate your appointment. If you have a dog too large for daycare, isn’t comfortable in the daycare setting, is dog aggressive, or for any other reason is unable to join daycare please arrive within 15 minutes of your appointment time. We are unable to accommodate dogs who arrive more than 15 minutes late.

Pick Up Times: We will text you, with a photo of your dog, when their haircut is done. Unless your dog is joining us for daycare please let us know what time you’re planning to pick up your dog. We can generally accommodate any pick up time. However if your dog can’t be in daycare they will need to relax in a kennel until you arrive. If you need your dog’s haircut to be done by a certain time please let us know in advance.

Matted Fur & Hair

At Pickles Playland, we pride ourselves on being a professional grooming salon that prioritizes your pet’s well-being over aesthetics. We believe in a compassionate approach, which is why we only de-mat dogs by shaving the mats.

When dropping off your dog or in your confirmation email, please let us know if your dog has mats, where they are located, and how you would like us to handle them. We offer several options: we can spot shave the mats, trim your dog’s entire coat to a shorter length, or leave the mats intact for you to address at home (if you choose this option we may not be able to accommodate your dog’s haircut for the day, but because we can’t fill that spot in the schedule we will need to charge for the visit).

Here is a list of the skin ailments caused by matting:

1. Skin Irritation: Mats can trap moisture, dirt, and debris, leading to irritation and inflammation of the skin.

2. Hot Spots: These localized areas of inflammation can develop from constant friction and moisture, causing painful, itchy sores.

3. Infection: Mats can create a breeding ground for bacteria and fungi, increasing the risk of skin infections.

4. Chafing and Abrasions: The tightness of mats can cause rubbing against the skin, leading to abrasions and discomfort.

5. Restricted Movement: Severe matting can restrict a dog's movement, potentially leading to stress or behavioral issues.

6. Follicle Damage: Prolonged matting can damage hair follicles, leading to hair loss or thinning.

7. Odor: Trapped moisture and debris can cause unpleasant odors. These odors can last even after the bathing & grooming process.

8. Pain and Discomfort: Removing mats can be painful for dogs, especially if they are tightly bound or pulling at the skin.

9. Underlying Skin Conditions: Mats can hide or exacerbate existing skin problems, making them more difficult to detect and treat.

10. Hematomas: Ears that have matting often develop hematomas due to restriction of the blood vessels and a rush of blood back to the area once the mats are removed. These often bleed, especially when a dog shakes their head after the mats are removed.

Your pet's comfort is our top priority, and we appreciate your collaboration in ensuring a positive grooming experience! If you are not able to keep up with proper brushing techniques PLEASE let us help you. We offer brushing services without scheduling a full haircut.

Behavioral & Medical Sensitivities

If your dog has any behavioral or medical sensitivities please let us know. These sensitivities will not automatically exclude your dog from the grooming process. We will however try our best to schedule your dog in a way that suits their needs.

Some of the examples of dogs we are unable to groom include those with later stage dementia, dogs who are unable to stand during the grooming process, and dog who are unable to continue through the grooming process without hurting themselves or us.

Cancelation Policy

Our groomers are paid on commission, and we want our groomers to stay happy! Cancellations and rescheduling can drastically affect a groomer’s ability to maintain their lifestyle, and also makes them feel unappreciated. Thank you for your understanding and supporting our hardworking team.

2 DAYS NOTICE

There is no charge if you notify us by email or phone by 7am, 2 days before your appointment.

e.g. If your visit is scheduled for Monday, to avoid a cancellation fee you should cancel or reschedule by 7am on Saturday morning

LESS THAN 2 DAYS NOTICE

After the 7am cutoff, but before the day of your appointment, the cancellation fee is 50% of the estimated visit cost.

SAME DAY & NO-SHOW

Same day cancelled or rescheduled grooming visits or appointment no-shows will be charged at 100% of the visit cost.
